Brandon Krakau

July 5, 1982 — January 6, 2022

Brandon Loyd Krakau of Ijamsville, Maryland passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022.  Born July 5, 1982 in Sandy Spring, Maryland to Ellen F. Krakau (Barnes) and the late Rodger B. Krakau. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Loyd O. and Mary R. Barnes.

Brandon graduated from High School in 2000 and worked as a mechanic at several automotive shops and dealerships in the area.  For the last six years he was employed at Performance Automatic in Frederick where he was a Transmission Builder.

Brandon enjoyed Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music and was a fan of paranormal ghost shows and WWE Wrestling. He loved a good pizza and a cold beer. His greatest passion was muscle cars, especially Chevys, and he was the proud owner of a red with black racing stripes 1972 SS Chevy Chevelle he affectionately named “BeBe”. He was a twenty-year member of the Maryland Chevelle Club and was known throughout the state and surrounding area for winning trophies at car shows. He also enjoyed racing at 75-80 Dragway and loved to go to the cruise-ins at Jimmie Cone in Mt. Airy.

Brandon is survived by his mother, Ellen Krakau and sister, Danna Krakau, both of Ijamsville, as well as his loving long-time girlfriend, Sarah Ashby, also of Ijamsville. He will be missed by numerous friends including his close friend Kevin Jacobs and wife, Shannon.

In keeping with Brandon’s wishes there will be no viewing and no service. He will be buried in a private burial at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Scaggsville, Maryland.

His passing has forever changed our lives and his absence will be felt always.
