Carolyn Delores Riggs

Carolyn Delores Riggs, 73, of Keymar, Maryland died peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Kline Hospice House, after a long struggle with ALS.

Born December 17, 1940 in Jefferson, Maryland, she was the daughter of Mary Alice (Stahl) and Daniel Mahlon Wolfe.  She was the loving wife of John W.D. Riggs, to whom she was married for 56 years.

She enjoyed traveling, mowing and gardening, and spending time with her granddaughter.

Surviving are her husband, John, daughters Patti Riggs and Wendy Ritchie and husband Darrell, granddaughter, Ashley Ritchie, sisters Ginny Carpenter, Johnnie Trump and husband Norman, Hope Horseman and husband Calvin, and Betty Riggs and husband Richard, a special nephew, Chuck Riggs and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son,  John William Riggs, a sister, Cora Butts, and a brother, Henry Mahlon Wolfe.

Special thanks are sent to the Hospice of Frederick County, especially Geoff , Rachel and Brienne; and to Lois, and to all the family and friends who helped the family care for Carolyn.

A Celebration of Carolyn's life will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Mt. Zion (Haugh’s) Lutheran Church in Keymar. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Zion (Haugh’s) Lutheran Church or the ALS Association.

Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
