Charles "Charlie" Scheel

Charles "Charlie"  Robert Scheel, 73, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed peacefully after a long battle with lung disease on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on November 8, 1946, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late George Albert Scheel (Pit) and Kathleen Penn Scheel.

Charlie was a life-long resident of Mount Airy.  He grew up farming with his father and brother.  Later working in different positions in precision sheet metal until his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, following the stock market and learning French.  Most of all he loved the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lynda (Miller) Scheel of Mount Airy, Maryland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Scheel of Mount Airy, Maryland and Stephanie Bailey and her husband, Ryan of Fredericksburg, Virginia;   granddaughter, Savannah Scheel of Mount Airy, Maryland. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Charlie is preceded in death by his brother, G. Albert Scheel, Jr.
