Christina Toth

March 29, 1962 — June 29, 2020

Christina Maria Toth, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend died peacefully on June 29th, 2020 at the age of 58.  She passed after a courageous battle with metastatic colon cancer.

Christina was born in Washington D.C. and spent most of her life in Maryland. She grew up in Cabin John and attended Walt Whitman High School where she participated in many school activities including the pom squad.  During her breaks from school, she loved spending time in Ft. Lauderdale with her grandparents. Following high school, she went to the University of Maryland and was a part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Many of her fondest memories were of adventures with relatives exploring Budapest and relaxing at Lake Balaton. For over 20 years, she worked in sales management at AT&T, earning respect and admiration from her peers.

More than anything, Christina loved visiting Disney World with her family; nothing could keep her away, not even her struggle with cancer. Each visit, she enjoyed dining at the Crystal Palace with Winnie and Tigger, as well as posing in front of Cinderella’s Castle with her family. To Christina, Disney World truly was the happiest place on Earth.
While Christina found joy in traveling to her favorite places, she also loved connecting with people. She recognized their struggles, encouraged their successes, and took pleasure in their growth. Her vast love extended even further to her four-legged friends. Christina was a lifelong animal advocate, who was dedicated to helping animals in need.

Despite receiving a six-month prognosis when diagnosed, Christina survived almost six years living life to her fullest. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Christina is survived by her mother, Del. Judith Toth; sister Adriana Toth; daughter Katie Capelli, husband Stephen Capelli, and grandchildren Kaylee and Autumn; daughter Amanda Leaird; daughter Brittany Leaird and grandchildren Logan and Lucas; son Christopher Leaird; dog Jenko; cats Angel and Curious; and birds. She will be reunited with her father, Csanad Toth, and all her pets that left before her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  A celebration of Christina's life will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at 12:30 at Cedarbrook Community Church, 23700 Stringtown Road, Clarksburg.  Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, Germantown.

Flowers are welcome; the family has also created a GoFundMe page www.gofundme.com/f/christina-maria-toth so that donations may be made in Christina’s name. All memorial contributions will be donated to either Colorectal Cancer Alliance or Montgomery County Humane Society.
