Daniel Baker

Daniel Cornelius Baker, 84, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away from this life on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Meritus Health Care Center in Hagerstown, MD.  He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Mae Barkdoll Baker who passed away on May 5, 2007.
Born on October 12, 1935 at Benevola, MD, he was the son of the late Leonard Parker Baker and Emma Annajeanette Summers Baker.
Daniel was a 1953 graduate of Boonsboro High School.  He was employed at Jamison Door Company for 45 years retiring in 2000.  Daniel was a life-long member of Benevola United Methodist Church serving on many committees.  He had a love for singing and participated with the church choirs.  He was the second generation cemetery caretaker.  He was a member of the Boonsboro Redmen Logan Tribe #155 for 62 years.  He was also past Satchem for the state of Maryland.
Surviving Daniel is his daughter Dawn M. Baker of Boonsboro.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Nancy Baker of Boonsboro, and three nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Deanna S. Baker, sister Isabelle V.J. Baker and brother Otho V. Baker and one nephew.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Benevola United Methodist Church Cemetery, 19925 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, MD with Pastor Robert Sharp officiating.
Due to the coronavirus, a celebration of Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 am at Benevola United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Benevola United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Ruann N. George, 19925 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, MD  21713
