David E. {Mike} Brightful, Sr.

Mr. David E. Mike Brightful, Sr., 57 of Frederick passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Kline Hospice House.

Born on January 5, 1952 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Edna (Jackson) and Herman Brightful, Sr.

Employed as a truck driver for most of his life, David had worked for F.O. Day Trucking, Kline Trucking and most recently Mannix Trucking.

A diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan, David enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing baseball. He loved racing hot rods and working on cars.

Survivors include his daughter, Shanta Brightful of Frederick; his son, David DJ Brightful, Jr. and his longtime companion Amy Lewis of Poolesville; his loving grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke and Savannah Brightful; a brother, Kevin Brightful and wife Glenda of New Market; a sister, Sylvia Walker of Florida; the mother of his children, Judy Brightful of Poolesville; mother-in-law, Annabelle Bolden of Beallsville, MD; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He will also be remembered by his special friend, Marlo Woodyard.

David was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Herman Brightful, Jr.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD with Rev's J. Sherman Mason and Charlotte Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
