Doris Jean Cavell

Mrs. Doris Jean Cavell, 74, of Frederick, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2009. She was the wife of the late Rudolph
Rudy Gillette Cavell for 47 years.

Born on March 14, 1935, at Catoctin Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Cleveland and Mabel Elizabeth Ramsburg. Doris worked side by side with her husband Rudy on their dairy farm for more than 18 years and raised 3 children.

She also worked in quality control for Frederick Tailoring (later known as Sagner) and later as a coil winder at Airpax. Doris attended Maranatha Church of God in Frederick where she was committed to her Christian walk. Serving the Lord in many ways, including her passion as a giver, always giving of her time, money, always there when you needed to talk. A prayer warrior. She was always trying to bring joy to someone else's life. She always enjoyed gardening, keeping an abundance of flowers around the home with each changing season, her home, listening to Southern Gospel Music, as well as watching Christian programs and preachers.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Linda Cavell and fiance Richard Clinton of Frederick, Deborah Linthicum and husband George of Montana and Brenda Hahn and husband Darren of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren: Lorraine Driver and husband Glenn, Belinda Fink and Husband Mark and Steven Hahn; 3 great grandchildren: Sebastain, Tanisha and Skylar Driver; 2 sisters: Mildred Dolly Burch of North Carolina and Mae Carty of Pennsylvania; a step-brother, Bernard Shatzer; a sister-in-law, Carol Ramsburg; as well as several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris will also be remembered by special friends: Jimmy Springer, Louie Leatherman, Jeannie Pool, as well as all her many friends.

Mrs. Cavell was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ramsburg and a granddaughter, Katrina Hahn.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, September 8, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, with her pastor, Rev. Jerry Price officiating.

Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
