Frances Naomi Summers

Frances Naomi Ruth Summers, 98, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Sterling Care South Mountain in Boonsboro.

Born on April 23, 1921, in Mapleville, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sadie V. (Shoemaker) Kephart. She was the loving wife of the late Robert R. Summers.

She was a homemaker and active in the ladies fire and rescue auxiliary. Frances was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, where she was part of the church's social committee. Everyone loved her cakes and doughnuts. She enjoyed her grandchildren, grandcats and granddogs.

She is survived by her sons, Dwight R. Summers and wife, Debra, of Keedysville and Dale P. Summers and wife, Monique, of Ellicott City, Maryland; sister, Josephine C. Detrow of Mt. Lena; two grandchildren, Hannah M. Summers and Grant T. Summers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Bessie J. Hoffman.

A celebration of Frances's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home.
