Freda Ann {Kelly} Haines

Mrs. Freda Ann (Kelly)Haines passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 31, 2008 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born July 27, 1933, in Fountain Mills, she was the daughter of the late Rodney and Lucille (Stup) Kelly.

She grew up in Buckeystown, and graduated from Frederick High School.

She was a homemaker and spent her life as a loving wife and a caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener, excellent seamstress, and loved decorating homes. She always extended a warm welcome to family and friends.

She was a longtime member of Mountain View United Methodist Church, Damascus, and a dedicated volunteer at the Harwood Thrift Shop.

She was the loving wife of Howard Haines for 56 years, who preceded her in death in 2006. They lived their entire married lives on the family farm in Lewisdale. She is survived by son Gary and wife Susan Haines, Clarksburg, MD; daughter Kathy Stanley and husband Roy, Damascus, MD; son Howard Allen and wife Robin, Thurmont, MD; daughter Debbie Foreman and husband Steve, Clarksburg, MD; nine grandchildren, Alan, Mark, Bryan and Scott Haines, Lisa Stanley-Willis, Kevin Stanley, Kyle and Shelby Foreman and J.R. Byrd, and eleven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Haines was one of six children, she is survived by sister Nancy Ranneberger and brothers, Rudy and Kenny Kelly.

She was preceded in death by brother James Kelly and sister Lucille Kelly.

Visitation: Visitors will be received at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville, in Mt. Airy, Friday January 2, 2009 from 5-8 p.m.

Services: Interment service will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD, January 3, 2009. Please gather inside entrance gate for a 9:30 am service and proceed with family to the gravesite. Memorial service will be January 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church Street, Damascus.
Grandchildren, Alan Haines, Kevin Stanley, Bryan Haines, Scott Haines, Kyle Foreman and J.R. Byrd, will serve as active pallbearers and Mark Haines, Lisa Willis and Shelby Foreman will serve as honorary pallbearers.
