Gloria Dotson

GLORIA ANN DOTSON, daughter of the late James Edward Dotson, Sr and Clara Catherine Snowden Dotson was born on December 30, 1955 in Carroll County Maryland.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Michael (Dike) Dotson and Emory (Stu) Dotson.  She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland surrounded by family.

Gloria received her education through the Carroll County Public School System.  She was employed at La Petite Academy in Frederick, Maryland where she was a dedicated employee with over 20 plus years of service.  She will be remembered fondly by all the staff, children, and parents.

She was a true mother figure and a caregiver.  She would not hesitate to cook you a meal or take care of you if you needed it.  She was generous and kind.  Her grandsons were her pride and joy and she loved to spend time with them.  She left memories that will last a lifetime.  Gloria loved to go out eating and shopping and looked forward her trips to Atlantic City.  She was a true “Shopaholic”.  She had more clothes, purses and shoes then she could wear.  She used to always say “I don’t need it to buy it but I got a good deal on it!”

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter Chastity Leslie (Doug), two brothers; Ernest Dotson (Elaine) and James Dotson (Treva), two grandchildren; Kyle and Caleb Leslie, one aunt; Margaret Johnson, sister-in-law Helen Dotson, two special nieces; Shy Johnson and Tina Dotson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
