Janet Bouchard

Janet Ellen Hussey Bouchard, 72 of Frederick, MD and formerly of Waynesboro, PA and Old Town, ME passed away peacefully on April 12, 2021. She was born on June 2, 1948 in Bangor, ME to the late Dr. Freeman L.O. and Mrs. Ruby E. Hussey.

Janet was a graduate of Old Town High School. She moved to Maryland in 1975 with her family and worked for Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, PA as a Surgical Technician for 31 years.

Janet is survived by her daughter Barbara; her son and his wife, Richard and Cynthia; and her brother John Hussey II. Janet is also survived by her 2 granddaughters, Meghan and Casey; a nephew, John Hussey III; a niece, Amanda Uhl (Spencer); cousins Betty Spaulding (LeBaron) and Barbara Myers; and numerous great-nephews and nieces. In addition to her family, Janet will be fondly remembered by her best friend of over 60 years, Barbara Hampel of Old Town, and by many close friends and acquaintances.

Janet was a loving parent and grandparent who spent many hours traveling to and from band concerts, competitions, music lessons, Boy and Girl Scout meetings and functions, soccer practices and games, dance lessons and recitals. Janet loved to cook and was well known for several dishes and special desserts. Her peanut butter fudge was legendary, being distributed throughout the country during the holidays.

A memorial service will be held at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town, ME at a later date. Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation or the American Diabetes Association in Janet’s name.
