Leona Sauser

January 3, 1945 — August 29, 2017

Mrs. Leona M. Sauser, 72, of Jefferson, MD passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Bill Sauser for 46 years.

Born January 3, 1945 in Salem, IL she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Mildred Hays Spencer.

Leona was an avid genealogist and writer with expertise on the immigration of the Scots-Irish to America, the story of her own ancestor's. She

was exceedingly generous to all, regardless of need. From humble beginnings she had a rewarding, enriched life. This huge void in our life and world can only be filled by the legacy of her love. Mission accomplished.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Charles L. Dalton, Jr. and wife Lucrecia, Christine L. Cooper and husband John, Clayton L. Dalton, Nathan B. Sauser and wife Kelly; grandchildren Cristina, Viviana, Spencer, Carly, Jesse, Emma, Willie, Hailey, Lawson and Carmen; great-grandchildren Madilyn, Jaxson, Emmett and Rocco; sister Lila Scott and husband Jeff and brother, Bill Dye and wife Monya.

A brief memorial service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 3PM followed by a celebration of life at the Brunswick American Legion, 18 S. Maple Ave., Brunswick, MD 21716.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Frederick Community Foundation, Widening Circles Society, www.frederickcountygives.org/sauser.

Interment will be private.
