Loretta Mae Callahan, of Frederick, Maryland died on Wednesday June 30, 2010 with her family by her side. Loretta was born in Smithfield, PA on April 27, 1922. She was the daughter of Philip and Emma Krichbaum. She married Vaughn J. Callahan on November 16, 1940.
She dedicated her life to serving Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 14th, 1951. She cherished her time serving Jehovah by preaching to all who would listen. Loretta will always be remembered by her sweet smile and caring attitude.
Loretta is survived by one brother and four sisters. She is also survived by 5 of her children; Son Thomas Callahan and wife Esther, Daughter Carol Dahmer, Son Gerald Callahan and wife Sandra, Son Mark Callahan and wife Rebecca, Son Gregg Callahan and wife Karen.
Additionally, she is survived by 9 grandsons, 6 granddaughters and 24 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Vaughn Callahan and Son Ronald Callahan.
Loretta drew comfort from the hope found in the Bible. She never feared death because she knew that Jehovah would resurrect the righteous in due time. The words found in Isaiah 41:13 would often help her endure
“
For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, the One saying to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I myself will help you.’”
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, July 6
th
from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 7
th
at 11:00AM with Mr. Don Moser officiating.
Interment for Loretta Mae Callahan will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
