M. Diane Shaff

M ary D. "Diane" (Fellers) Shaff, 65, of Yarrowsburg, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 10, 1948, in Sandy Hook, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stevens) Fellers.

Diane attended Boonsboro Schools.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated Shaff's Well Drilling.

Diane had a great love for animals, but cats were her passion. In her lifetime, she had rescued over 5,000 cats; Miss Daisy was, by far, her pride and joy. She also enjoyed gardening, especially planting and caring for her flo x , whom she was very proud of.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-three years, John V. Shaff, Jr.; one son, John A. Shaff and wife, Tiffany of Sharpsburg, Maryland; one step-son, Chris Shaff of Inwood, West Virginia; three granddaughters, Mary, Megan, and Katlin Shaff, all of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Gloria Mumaw and her husband, Luther, and Janice Linton, all of Knoxville, Maryland; and two brothers, Charles "Sonny" Fellers and his wife, June, of Frederick, Maryland and Harry "Butch" Fellers and his wife, Judy of Brunswick, Maryland. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Jackson; and her brother, Larry Fellers.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Washington County for their love and outstanding care of Diane. Also, a special thank you to Debi, her hospice nurse, whom Diane relied on for support.

A funeral c eremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Daniel Fraley will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville, Maryland.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
