Margaret Summers

Mrs. Margaret Virginia Summers, 79, of Mt. Airy, died on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Northwest Hospital, Randallstown. She was the beloved wife of 54 years of James H. Summers.

Virginia was born on December 11, 1930 in Frederick, the daughter of the late John Edward and Flora Driver Main.
She was a longtime member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren in Monrovia. She worked for over 40 years for the ARC of Carroll County as a bus driver. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family and friends at her vacation home in Paw Paw, West Virginia.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Ronald E. Summers of Taneytown and Larry W. Summers and his wife Aimee of Smithsburg; one grandson, James William Summers of Smithsburg; and one sister, Beatrice Carpenter of Hagerstown. Nieces and nephews are Deborah Higgs of Monrovia, Sherry Tabler of Westminster, Vivian Cade of Clarksburg, Phylis Carpenter of Piedmont, AL, Susan Peason of Staunton, VA, Clyde Richard Carpenter, Jr. of Westminster, Christine Allender of Hagerstown, and Kenneth Carpenter of Hagerstown. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Edward Main, Jr.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, September 16, at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia, where the family will also receive friends from 10:00 am until time of services. Pastor Charles G. Beekley will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Floyd Driver, Robert Driver, Brad Miller, Joseph Mossburg, James Ritter, Gary Summers, Kenneth Summers, and Douglas Tabler.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions in her name to the ARC of Carroll County, 180 Kriders Church Road, Westminster, MD 21158.
