Mary Jane Harrington

Mrs. Mary Jane Harrington, 75 of Emmitsburg, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of 57 years to Earl E. Harrington.

Born on October 14, 1931 in Laurel, MD, she was the daughter of the late Maimi Elizabeth (Hume) and Lucian Dallas Minnick.. A homemaker, Mary was a volunteer for many years at the Emmitsburg Elementary School Library. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, besides her husband she is survived by ten children; Earl Harrington, III and wife Robin of Gaithersburg, Michael Harrington and wife Allison of Frederick, Ken Harrington and wife Joyce of Emmitsburg, Richard Harrington and wife Christine of Fairfield, PA, Bernie Harrington and fiance Debbie Wallace of Walkersville, Andrew Harrington and wife Lynn of New Market, Robert Harrington and wife Tammy of Emmitsburg, Neal Harrington and wife Theresa of Fairfield, Mary Ann Tyler and husband Norman of Fairfield, and Paul Harrington and wife Stephanie of Emmitsburg; 24 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, six siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

She will also be remembered by her close friend Ann Valentine of Emmitsburg.

Mary was also preceded in death by seven other siblings.

Visitation: Friends may call on Friday from 2 until 8 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD where the family will be in attendance from 6 until 8 PM.

Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 100 North Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, MD. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where eight of her sons will serve as pallbearers.
