Robert Eubanks

December 16, 1966 — March 20, 2020

Robert Eubanks, 53, of Frederick, Maryland fell asleep in death on Friday March 20, 2020. He was born on December 16, 1966, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late George and Dolores Eubanks. He was the youngest of 3 children. He grew up surrounded by a spiritual family and lifelong friends.

On April 16, 1983, he was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a faithful servant of Jehovah until his death.

Robert is survived by his wife, Zonya, and their two children son, Matthew Eubanks, with his wife, Lisha Eubanks; daughter, Stacey Saname and her husband, Jerimye Saname; brother Stuart Eubanks and his wife, Sharrie; sister Anita Eubanks; and a host of nieces and nephews along with many great nieces and nephews.

He met the love of his life, Zonya, at the “Kingdom Truth” District Convention in Cleveland, Ohio in 1982, when they were teenagers. They were married on August 15, 1987. Together they raised two children. He was a devoted and loving husband and father for 32 years. Their family forged lifelong and enduring friendships during their years in Youngstown Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

He was a loving dad who always took the time to listen and give loving sound council and advice. He instilled in his children a deep love for Jehovah God, life, friends, and the beautiful united worldwide brotherhood. He cherished and valued his children. He loved to plan annual quality vacation family time.

Bob or “Big Bob” as he was known by most, loved to make people laugh. He was approachable and kind. He was always ready to lend a listening ear and was someone that you could depend on when you needed to be uplifted. When you came to him with a problem, he would always say “Leave it in Jehovah’s hands” and “Take it in prayer to Jehovah.”

He loved to arrive at the Kingdom hall early to meet the friends as they came in and greet them with a big smile, a hug or a handshake.

He was a spiritual man who exemplified the beautiful fruitages of the spirit.—Gal 5:22, 23

Bob worked in the natural gas industry for 34 years. Right out of high school he started out as a meter reader and serviceman with East Ohio Gas in Youngstown, Ohio. The residents he serviced were always ready with a gift of cookies and goodies for him! Everyone, young and old felt instantly comfortable around him. He moved his family to Frederick, Maryland in 2004, and worked for Dominion Energy, Equitable, and then Washington Gas and Light since 2007. He was well respected and loved by all his colleagues and enjoyed his recent position as supervisor of Field Operations.

He was an excellent example of an obedient son, supportive brother, loving husband, patient father, and caring friend.

His faith and hope were so sure, he would always say…”The new system is right in front of us friends. We don’t have long.”

We long to see Bob soon!

Some of the beautiful scriptures and promises of Jehovah God that he treasured and looked forward to…

"You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name [Jehovah] be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth."—Matthew 6:9, 10

"Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, and they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."—Psalms 37:10, 11

"And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."—Acts 24:15

“For just as the rain and the snow pour down from heaven and do not return there until they saturate the earth, making it produce and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so my word that goes out of my mouth will be.  It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight, and it will have sure success in what I send it to do.”—Isaiah 55:10, 11

"With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”—Revelation 21:3, 4
