Robert G. Nutter, Sr., 66 of Brunswick, MD passed away on July 11, 2014. He was the husband of Peggy Stoutamyer Nutter, his wife of 45 years. Born November 17, 1947, in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Luther Nutter, Sr., and Etta Mae Moreland Nutter.
Bob served his country and was honorably discharged with the Navy Reserves. He served on the USS Amphion at Norfolk, VA for two and half years in the late 1960's. He worked for Gillette Research in Rockville, MD, Eastalco Alcoa in Frederick, MD and NAPA Auto Parts in Purcellville, VA as a driver.
He was the loving Father of Rob Nutter (Audrey) of Middletown, MD; Lea McGill (David) of Point of Rocks, MD; and Aaron Nutter (Christina) of Martinsburg, WV. He was the proud Grandfather of Lucas and Kylie Nutter; Ember and Cayden McGill; and Sabrina and Allison Nutter. He is also survived by his sisters Sandra Bean (Don) and Brenda Smith (James); Brother Luther Nutter Jr., (Suk Cha); Stepsister Kay Tucker (Jerome); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by sister Carolyn Lee Nutter; Stepmother Pearle Nutter; Stepsister Dixie Jarret; and a niece, Jennifer Bean.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren located at 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD. The family will receive friends and family from 10 am to 12 pm. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12 pm.
Pastors Alan Smith and Tom Fralin will be officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brownsville Church of the Brethren Praise Band, the Brownsville Church of the Brethren Kitchen Fund, or The Church of the Brethren Mid-Atlantic Disaster Auction.
