Russell Winston Churchill Holmes,76, of Charles Town, West Virginia, passed from this life on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
Born on March 8, 1941, in Chestnut Grove, Maryland, he was the son of the late Earl Sylvester Holmes and Marjorie Pearl (Johnson) Holmes.
He proudly served in the US Army and was employed by Pangborn in Hagerstown for over 17 years and worked various other jobs before his retirement.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Garfield, Cleveland, Franklin, Louis, Helen, Erscel, and Elsie
He is survived by sister, Valeria Grams and Hazel M. Dunkin and her husband Charles R.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.
A celebration of Russell's life journey will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Gene Renner will officiate. Interment will be at Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
