Shirley Brown

Shirley Eva Brown, 85, of Sabillasville, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Born on March 15, 1936, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Gladhill and Hilda (Mute) Gladhill.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert Lewis Brown, her husband of 39 years.

She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles and coloring books. She looked forward to watching the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy each week. She also loved going to church and spending time with family.  She was a member of the Red Hats Society, Thurmont Senior Citizens and Jacobs Church in Fairfield, PA.

She is survived by her children, Darrell Brown and wife, April, Keith Brown, Sharon Ditch, Mark Brown, Diane Hahn, Phillip Brown and wife, Stacey, Craig Brown and wife, Angie and Gordon Brown.  She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and her dear friend, Louise Delauter.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Christopher and Jeannie Brown and one brother, Richard James Gladhill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, Maryland 21788.

A celebration of Shirley's life will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Jacob's Church, 4995 Harbaugh Valley Road in Fairfield, PA.

Interment will be at Fountaindale Cemetery.
